ON FUTURES AND ENDINGS: NARRATOLOGICAL REFLECTIONS ON CONTEMPORARY FORMS OF CRISES^*

The article examines the changing relationship of present to future from a narratological perspective. It argues that three dominant narrative schemas structure contemporary experiences temporality in Western social imaginary: modern crisis narrative, apocalyptic and chronic narrative.
